Forestry is a mod designed to enhance the agricultural aspects of Minecraft and adds a number of productive, if time-consuming, options for players. This is advised for late-game players in a world, but the player can take advantage of some of the mods components or build some of the structures once you have explored and collected some resources.

At a later stage, the player can build large multi-block Farms capable of automatically planting and harvesting crops, trees and even Netherwart. If you have IndustrialCraft 2 installed these farms can harvest the Sticky Resin from the rubber trees. There is an extensive and effective bee-keeping system where bees can be used to provide a range of products.

Further, the bees can be used to assist with breeding greater varieties of trees, which will then, in turn, attract a variety of Butterflies which can also be captured and bred. Forestry adds a few ores and items to your world which you'll need to collect before you can get started. You'll notice some of these while out exploring your world or when you are mining.

Apatite is usually found in very large, but uncommon, veins at higher Y levels. If you want to build the farm structures you'll need a healthy collection of Apatite in your stores as the farms will use this as a Fertilizer. Tin and Copper can be used to make Bronze alloy which you'll need later for crafting the machines. There will be some unusual blocks, that glow in the dark, you'll notice while out exploring. Some will be found high up in the canopy of Jungle Trees while others will be found in the deep depths of your strip mine.

They will look like coloured blocks with stripes around them and can be found in the different biomes of your world. These are the Beehives and the only way you can collect what they contain is by breaking them with a Scoop. Create one of these and take it with you when you go exploring so you can collect the Bees and bring them back to your base for later.

Note: The Princess Bees won't stack and will use inventory space quickly. You'll need several chests at your base to store them until you have the components to build an Apiarist's Chest. There's nothing more frustrating than when you're happily mining in the deep depths of your strip mine and your inventory fills up.

You have to amble all the way back up to your base to dump your findings and then amble back down to continue mining. This process is time consuming. Thankfully Forestry provides us with Backpacks. There's two of them immediately useful to you: the Digger's Backpack and the Miner's Backpack.

These Backpacks have some great features. Firstly each Backpack can only hold certain items. Digger's Backpacks can hold things like Cobblestone, Dirt, Sand and gravel. Miner's Backpacks can hold anything from the Ore Dictionary, so ores and gems. Anything you pick up that should go in your backpack automatically does so without hitting your inventory first. You can also click a chest with your backpack and dump its entire contents into said chest.

You'll notice the icon now has a green arrow. Basically, if you click on a chest, then anything that is supposed to go into that backpack goes into it until it is full, so the reverse functionality of what it normally does.

This is really handy on the digger's backpack when building things, because it will automatically fill stacks in your inventory.Random forest is a supervised learning algorithm which is used for both classification as well as regression.

Now, after I have cut the tree down off how to I "crouch" in order to cut a piece of log off. Using a controler it looks like the 'Y' button allows you to "crouch" but doesn't hold you in that position. I actualy just looked down at the tree and a blue line appears near the branches sticking out, press the button on the controller will just sned the branches off -keep moving forwards either side of the tree and they will cut where needed.

Lastly cut the tree into 2 metre or so lengths by walking along it parallel and a blue line again will apear below the saw indicating cut lengths. Thanks zoo, that worked. No probs.

You are going to need a scoop and a smoker to mine those hives. A scoop is made like so. Hives are easier to find at night, because most of them emit light.

Bees can also be found under water, in caves, in the Nether and even in the End. When you break a bee hive with a scoop, you're guaranteed to get at least a princess. You can get a drone and maybe a comb, but not always. We'll talk about those later. Bee Houses can be used to get Honey Combs. They don't mutate your bees, and have a very low production speed. You can make them like so. However we want our bees to breed, so we can breed better species than your standard Tropical Bee.

We want an Apiary. To make the Apiary you need a lot of materials, but it's worth it. To start using bees, you'll need machines. The first 'machine' you'll need is a Sturdy Casing. They are made like so. To use any bee to your advantage, you will need an apiary. Bees can breed and produce combs in the apiary. Apiaries are made with Impregnated Casing. To craft it you'll need a Squeezerto squeeze Seeds into Seed Oil and get the seed oil you need to craft it. Seed oil is also used in a lot of recipes, later on.

You will also need an engine, e. Clockwork Engineto power the Squeezer. The next machine you'll want is a Carpenter. This machine is used to craft any bee machines other than the squeezer and carpenter, and it will be needed to craft an Apiary.

Clockwork Engineto power the Carpenter. Too bad you can't transfer mB of seed oil.

Squeeze up 1 bucket of seed oil this means a LOT of seedsand put the bucket in the carpenter's liquid interface.Forestry is focused around agriculture. To that end it provides one of the largest multi-block structures in Minecraft. The Farm. Each farm is made up primarily of Farm Blocks.

Farm ValveFarm Hatchand Farm Control blocks are optional, but will be needed if you intend on automating the farm. All farms are 4 blocks high and require a platform to work on. The smallest farm is 3x3x4 with a platform diameter of 9 while the largest is 5x5x4 with a platform diameter of A 3x5x4 will allow you to have a platform diameter of 15 and is generally considered to be the most efficient farm by size you can create.

FVS Self-Paced Training

The platform must be built around the sides of the farm. It will not function if it is built on top of Farm Blocks. There are several types of farms which can be built ; these come in the form of manual farms and managed farms.

For many of the farm types you will need to change how they are configured for them to farm the items you want or to become a managed or manual type. To configure your farm you will need to have crafted a Soldering Iron and one of the types of Circuit Boards in the Carpenter you built earlier.

To configure a Circuit Board with Electron Tubes you need to put the Soldering Iron in your hand and right-click, place the Circuit Board to be configured in the top right slot, click the arrows at the top to change the machine type selection to read Managed Farms or Manual Farmsand then place one of the accepted Electron Tubes into one of the four available slots down the left-hand side.

Getting Started (Forestry)

Both farm types will require Fertilizer created from Apatite. Manual farms require you to set the soil and plant the seeds or saplings. It will harvest and replant once you have done the initial set up. Managed farms will automatically layout the soil type and plant the seeds and saplings as long as they are kept supplied with various items they need to do so.

Farm Blocks can be made from a variety of materials which only affect the appearance of the block, not its function. These are used to build the main farm structure and also the other farm blocks so it's a good idea to make quite a few of these. Now that you have several Farm Blocks we can craft the other blocks you'll need and want in order to build your farm.

Farm Gearboxes are used to supply the farm with RF. It can be connected with any type of pipe capable of transferring RF power. At least one is required to supply power to the farm. Farm Valves are used to supply the farm with water. It can be connected with any type of liquid pipe to pump the water in. Farm Hatchs allow you to pipe in the items the farm will need such as FertilizerDirtand seeds. They also allow you to pipe out the the farm's products. They can be connected to pipes that transport items.
